Tuesday 22nd Sept saw a visit by District 1020 Governor Andy Ireland. Here he is on the left passing on a banner from worldwide president K. R Ravindran to our President Ian Samson.
Andy congratulated our club on the excellent work we are doing in the community, the most recent being contributing to the success of our town in the Keep Scotland Beautiful competition. He also mentioned Rotary in a world wide context with our big push to eradicate polio. Africa has now had a year without a case, and globally the number of cases has dropped from 171 in 2014 to 41 so far this year. He said ours was a very active, involved club which was expanding, and he wished us every success for the future.
Based in the historic market town of Haddington, our club has celebrated 56 years of service to the community. Like those who founded our club, our members are dedicated to helping those in need at home and abroad.
Our members come from wide variety of backgrounds and we support many local and international organisations where we believe our assistance can make a real difference to communities.
We meet on each Tuesday evening at Maitlandfield House Hotel Sidegate, Haddington EH41 4BZ (6pm for 6.30pm start). If you would like to come to a meeting, please use the Contact Us link to arrange a date – we would love to see you.
