No it’s not Williams, McLaren or Mercedes but Formula Force from Knox Academy, who took the top honours at the Scotland F1 in Schools Regional Final held at Fife College, Kirkcaldy. They also won the Best Engineered Car Award, Best Research and Development Award and the Fastest Car Award, with the team’s car racing on the F1 in Schools 20 metre test track in a time of 1.174 seconds.
This success took them to Silverstone competing in the UK final and although the team unfortunately didn’t win, they were absolutely brilliant. The competition was extremely tough and standards extremely high, and they were competing against teams that had been competing for years, and who also had all the manufacturing equipment in their schools.
So although they were disappointed, they are rightly proud of themselves, and they had a fantastic experience. What is more, they have come back brimming with ideas of what they are going to do next year in order to do even better!

The team will come and present their work to the rotary club.
