Members enjoyed a very interesting and informative talk given by David Badura shown here with Gordon Boyd and Louise Begbie. David is Administration and Fund Raising Co-ordinator for the Butterfly Trust. The ButterflyTrust provides face to face social support for Scotland’s Cystic Fibrosis community.
Cystic Fibrosis is a genetically inherited condition caused by the inheritance of a faulty gene. It is a complex condition that affects many different organs and causes most problems in the lungs and digestive system in the early years. Over time, repeated infections in the lungs can leave tissue damage and impair lung function.
The Butterfly Trust provides its support to those with Cystic Fibrosis and their families, by means of a number of services which include advocacy and advice, welfare benefits, housing, education, employment, befriending and mentoring, massage therapy and transport.
